Bowl History:
The Sugar Bowl was first played in 1935 with a 20-3 win by Tulane University over Temple University. From 1935-1974 the game was held at Tulane Stadium on the campus of Tulane University in New Orleans. Since 1975 the game has been played annually, except for in 2006, at the Louisiana Superdome. The 2006 Sugar Bowl was moved to the Georgia Dome in Atlanta due to severe damage to the structure from Hurricane Katrina.
